My first time: Pavel Kadeřábek

Pavel Kadeřábek has been a TSG Hoffenheim player since 2015. He's experienced a lot in his time in the Kraichgau, from relegation battles to the Champions League. The Czech is strongly connected to the region and the club. Two and a half years ago, the right-back was also in the crowd for the TSG women's first ever Champions League match.

Pavel, you've watched several TSG women's matches live at the stadium. Which game holds a particularly special place in your memory?

"It was definitely the first match in the Women's Champions League. There was a real buzz in the Dietmar Hopp Stadium, everyone was excited because it was a first for the club. And then the team defeated Danish club HB Köge 5-0. It was a successful evening all round and really good fun."

Do you follow the results of the TSG women's team?

"Unfortunately, I don't have the time to watch games all that often, because I'm playing at the weekend. But I check the results and when TSG play Bayern or Wolfsburg, for example, I like to tune in or watch the highlights. I also follow the results of the Czech national team."

What is the situation in Czechia?

"There has been a big development. Slavia and Sparta Prague are at the top in the women's league, just like in the men's league. One of them usually play in the Champions League. However, they are not as good as the German teams and TSG would probably be the favourites in a head-to-head clash. Nevertheless, you can tell that interest is growing and the standard of play is getting better and better."

Your daughter has also played football, does she enjoy it?

"She wanted to emulate her dad and played football at the club for a while. But now she enjoys athletics and handball more, so it was too much to play football on top of that. But the core interest is definitely there."
