Manager Ernst Tanner on Alaba, Zuculini and Tagoe

There are still some question marks surrounding certain players who could be involved with the 1899 Hoffenheim squad in the 2011/12 Bundesliga season. Here's what manager Ernst Tanner had to say about those in question:

David Alaba:

Whether Alaba's loan spell from FC Bayern München will be extended is yet to be decided. Here's what Ernst Tanner had to say: “I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll be able to reach an agreement with FC Bayern. It seems like the decision hinges on whether they are successful in signing Arturo Vidal during the summer. However, we'll be doing everything in our power to keep David here for another year so that we can welcome him back as part of the team once again over the coming weeks. For him personally, the first team opportunities are certainly going to be greater with Hoffenheim than at FC Bayern.”

Franco Zuculini:

Zuculini, whose loan spell with Racing Club de Avellaneda (Argentina) comes to an end on 30th June, is expected back in training at the beginning of July. The manager had this to say about the 20-year old: “He's getting a new chance. I'm hoping that he has learnt from his year abroad and that his behaviour will have improved. If that's the case and he properly applies himself in training, he'll get the same opportunities as everyone else in the squad.”

Prince Tagoe:

The supposed transfer of Prince Tagoe to Partizan Belgrade, where he is currently on loan until the end of the month, is not yet set in stone at this current moment in time. “There's a lot of movement involving this deal right now, but I'm convinced we'll be able to come to an agreement soon that suits everyone involved”, stated Tanner.
