#TSGFCA: favoured opponents in good form

TSG Hoffenheim are set to host FC Augsburg on Sunday (kick-off 15:30 CET/liveticker at tsg-hoffenheim.de). The visitors from the Bavarian part of Swabia are on a good run of form and would be in the Champions League places if only games in the second half of the season counted. That said, FCA are traditionally one of TSG's favourite teams to go up against. We've compiled the most interesting facts ahead of the game.

Did you know that…

…FCA are one of TSG's favourite opponents?

Hoffenheim have won 14 of their 25 Bundesliga encounters with FC Augsburg - against no other team have Hoffenheim notched up more wins in the Bundesliga. TSG have come out on top in eight of the last 12 meetings between the two sides.

…Augsburg could set a new club record?

FCA have won each of their last two away games – a third straight win on the road would set a new club record. Never before have Augsburg won three consecutive away games in the Bundesliga.

…Augsburg have the wind in their sails?

With 36 points to their name so far, Augsburg are having their best season at this time point since nine years ago – and the third best in club history. Coach Jess Thorup's team are unbeaten in their last five games (four wins, one draw). Only Leverkusen, Dortmund and Stuttgart have picked up more points in the second half of the season than FCA.

…goals are more or less guaranteed?

TSG Hoffenheim have only managed to keep one clean sheet this season, while FC Augsburg have managed two. TSG are coming close to matching a negative club record; from April 2013 to January 2014, Hoffenheim conceded at least once in 24 consecutive games.

…Wout Weghorst loves scoring against Augsburg?

Wout Weghorst has scored five goals against FC Augsburg – the only Bundesliga side he has scored more goals against is his current club, TSG Hoffenheim (seven goals). The Dutchman netted for TSG in the 1-1 draw in the first half of the season.
