Kasim Adams Nuhu signed to bolster TSG's defence

TSG Hoffenheim have made Kasim Adams Nuhu their fifth signing of the summer. The 22-year-old Ghanaian international defender joins the club from Swiss champions Young Boys and has penned a deal keeping him in Kraichgau until 30 June 2023.

After Kasim Adams Nuhu had passed the compulsory medical check in Heidelberg on Tuesday afternoon, the two clubs set about agreeing the final terms of the transfer in the evening. Nuhu was impressed by the conditions on offer at the future Champions League participants and talked up the discussions he had held with the TSG representatives. "I've felt welcome and wanted from the very first moment. That's partly why I have been a little impatient of late, I just wanted things to finally get started for me in Germany. Now that time has come and I'm very much looking forward to the double challenge of Bundesliga and Champions League and to working with this young team here at TSG."

TSG Sporting Director Alexander Rosen was delighted to have got the transfer over the line and described the 1.90-metre-tall defender as a "strong tackler who has huge potential and immediately makes an impression due to his exceptional physique". Nuhu, who initially came through the youth ranks in his homeland as a central midfielder, also "builds the play well and is extremely good in the air, which will be very good for us in both defence and attack," Rosen continued.

Nuhu to wear shirt number 15

Nuhu, who was born in the Ghanaian capital of Accra, made a name for himself at Spanish club RCD Mallorca before moving to Bern, where he made 69 competitive appearances and scored three goals.

He made his international debut on 12 November last year in a World Cup qualifier − a 1-1 draw with Egypt  and has since amassed a further two caps for the "Black Stars".

He will wear the shirt number 15 at TSG.
