Polanski, Uth & Gnabry bid farewell

Eugen Polanski, whose contract runs out in the summer, came from Mainz in 2013 to join a relegation-threatened TSG. The midfielder quickly established himself as a first-team starter and played his part in saving the club from a seemingly inevitable relegation. Only on Matchday 34, against Dortmund, were TSG able to avoid the automatic drop with a 2-1 win, putting them in the relegation playoff where they beat Kaiserslautern to confirm another season in the top flight.

 After five and a half years in total, Polanski thanks the club and the fans "for everything we’ve experienced together – I’ve really enjoyed my time at Hoffenheim," said the 32-year-old, who has not only made 136 competitive appearances for TSG, but has also led the team out as captain. "There’s been a lot of trust put in me from the start, and I hope that through my passion, my effort and my performances I have been able to pay at least some of that back," said Polanski, and went on to "wish TSG and the fans all the best for the future," before adding his final words: "See you around!"

Mark Uth’s transfer deal to Schalke was finalised and announced in January of this year. The striker came to Hoffenheim from Everdivisie side SC Heerenveen in the summer of 2015, and he too wishes to "thank the TSG fans for your support in the last three years. I will always enjoy coming back to Hoffenheim in future and look forward to seeing you again," he said, wishing TSG "continued success."  

Uth made 85 competitive appearances for TSG, scoring 33 goals in the process: "I’ve been given the chance to develop as a player here in an outstanding environment and establish myself as a Bundesliga player," said Uth looking back on three successful years.

Gnabry will be crossing his fingers

Serge Gnabry will also say his goodbyes on Saturday – the Bayern München loanee will play for the German record champions as of next season. The 22-year-old forward has been on the pitch 26 times for TSG and has scored ten goals. "I only spent a year at TSG, but I was happy here, and I was able to be part of a fantastic team. So I’d like to thank the club and all the supporters for that," said Gnabry.

TSG provides its players with the "best facilities" to develop themselves, and Gnabry will be crossing his fingers for the lads in their game against Dortmund tomorrow, hopeful that the team can realise its dream of qualifying for the Champions League.

"Serge has shown in just one season that he is a highly talented player and there is no doubt that our plan with the loan deal came to fruition, even with his injuries preventing him from playing a full season. Mark came from the Netherlands without a single Bundesliga appearance and in three years he’s become one of the most dangerous strikers in the country. Eugen has truly become a face of the club in recent years. He’s a professional in every sense of the word, whose attitude in the job has made him a role model. Furthermore, he’s a psychological leader, whose made a real difference to our progress off the pitch in recent years as well," said Rosen, praising the departing trio and wishing each of them "all the best in their future endeavours," from the bottom of his heart. "It’s completely normal to part ways after this time together," he said. After all, "TSG profits from these transfers, and will be fielding another strong, ambitious team next season," he wrapped up.
