TSG continue to bring through young players

TSG have brought a further two players from the youth team up to first team level. Both defender Stafan Posch as well as forward Robin Hack have been offered contracts until June 2020 and will join Nagelsmann’s side in their pre-season preparations for the upcoming Bundesliga campaign.

“We are clearly showing that we are continuing to pave the way for young talents and U23 players to make that step up to professional level. We are ensuring that this is not subsiding after the most successful season in the club’s history,” said Alexander Rosen. The TSG sporting director believes this is a “clear signal that TSG takes its promises seriously to offer excellent opportunities to outstanding talents.” He went on to add that the “high numbers of youth players that we bring through is something extraordinary and illustrates that we want to further develop young players responsibly and steadily.”

“In accordance with the club’s philosophy, we help them with their work in combination with a ‘kick-start in life’”, covering educational and professional development as well.

Several players have made the jump to the first team and Bundesliga football from TSG in recent years, such as Philipp Ochs, Jeremy Toljan or Nadiem Amiri. They have also secured themselves international call-ups. Moreover Niklas Süle became the first TSG youth academy graduate to receive a cap for the Germany first team and is now with the squad as they prepare for their opening game of the Confederations Cup this evening. The contracts offered to Stafan Posch and Robin Hack are another chapter in this success story for Hoffenheim.

Stefan Posch made the move to TSG from FC Admira Wacker Mödling in 2015 to join the U19s and was included in Julian Nagelsmann’s 18-man squad in February for the Bundesliga clash with Darmstadt 98. The centre-back has been part of the Austrian national team since U16 level and is currently with their U21 team. He played 30 times for the TSG U23 side last season.

Robin Hack has been at the club since U15 level and is one of the club’s most promising attacking talents. He was included in Frank Kramer’s provisional squad for the U19 European Championship in Georgia and is currently training with fellow teammates Dennis Geiger and Johannes Bender at their pre-tournament training in Grassau. Hack made 21 appearances last season, scoring an impressive 15 goals.
