Japan beat Spain in Olympic opener
Takashi Usami celebrated a great triumph with the Japanese Olympic team, one day before the official opening ceremony of the summer games in London.
The Spaniards, with three European champions in their starting line-up (Mata, Martinez, Alba), were defeated 1-0 by Japan in a shock result in Glasgow's Hampden Park. The only goal of the game was scored in the 34th minute by Yuki Otsu. Unfortunately, Usami remained an unused substitute. Japan will meet Morocco in their second match in group D on the 29th of July, before wrapping things up against Honduras on August 1st.
