Match reaction from the Bayern München game

Markus Gisdol, Pep Guardiola and a few players spoke to us after TSG's 4-0 loss to FC Bayern Munich.

Markus Gisdol:If you want to take anything from Munich then you have to do everything well. That didn't happen for us today. We were the better team in the opening stages and could have taken the lead through Anthony Modeste. We got a bit sloppy after we went 1-0 down. We had the chance to make it 2-1 in the second half. 4-0 is hard to take. We started well in our attempt to try and hurt Bayern. We did well to create some chances but it didn't last. Bayern will be German champions again. That's clear.

Pep Guardiola:I saw last year how hard it can be for us against Hoffenheim. Until we changed the system after 15 minutes, we had real problems with our build-up play. Hoffenheim had more of the ball and the better of the chances. 4-0 isn't a fair reflection of what happened on the pitch. We didn't have as much possession as we expected today and it was hard for us to control the game. I thank Markus Gisdol for his compliment, but we aren't German champions yet.

Sebastian Rudy:We didn't play badly today. The difference was that Bayern took their chances clinically and we didn't. You saw how quickly a game in Munich can become 4-0. We came back into the game after the break but Bayern scored two goals and that shows their class.

Andreas Beck:We wanted to play very courageously today, like we did in the game in the second half of last season. We did that at times. We caused Bayern problems and created chances in the first 30 minutes and in the second half. But in comparison to last season, we didn't do enough to get back into the game and didn't take our chances.

Kevin Volland:It's a very frustrating result. We expected more of ourselves today. We can certainly blame ourselves for not counterattacking well. Unlike us, Bayern made the most of their chances. If we carry on performing, we will start to pick up positive results.

Oliver Baumann:The 4-0 scoreline doesn't accurately reflect the game. We were courageous and played with confidence for long periods. We couldn't keep up as much as we would have liked in the end. Bayern are in a class of their own – maybe not just in the Bundesliga. If you want to get something here, you have to be incredibly clinical with your chances. We didn't do that today.
