Augsburg match reaction

Here is the match reaction following TSG's 2-0 win against FC Augsburg.

Markus Gisdol:We slept through the first five minutes, but after that we had a very good first half. We could have scored a couple more goals. We weren't particularly well organised after the break, but Jens Grahl gets top marks in goal. What's really important is that we have 40 points and mathematically can no longer be relegated. Every fan can have an extra drink tonight. I'm proud of my team and the fans, who carried us superbly today. It has been a special day for us.

Markus Weinzierl:Congratulations to TSG. Matches are decided in front of goal and they were better than us in that department today. We conceded both goals from set-pieces and the ball simply didn't want to go in at the other end, not least because Hoffenheim had a very good goalkeeper. If we had clawed a goal back, maybe we could have got something from the game, but we've ended up leaving the pitch beaten.

Kevin Volland:We played with real bite today, particularly in the first half. We were getting stuck into the tackles. Augsburg put us under a bit of pressure in the second half and we were lacking that clinical touch. Jens Grahl made sure of the win for us. Obviously it's great to get a clean sheet on top. If you look at the game as a whole, I think we deserve the three points. We simply wanted the win a little more than Augsburg today.

Jannik Vestergaard: It was a hectic and intensive game today with both teams having lots of chances. It was definitely an exciting match for the spectators and exciting for me at both ends of the pitch. For the goal, I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. In the remaining games, we want to get the maximum possible and end the season on a high.

Jens Grahl: I feel great after today's game. Above all, I would like to thank our physios who have got me fit in time for the match. We took our foot off the gas in the second half a little, but we finally kept a clean sheet and deservedly won.
