Modeste and Rudy ready for Wolfsburg – Firmino a doubt

It was a hard fought, 2-1 home win on Sunday against Gladbach. All the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim players were pushed to the limit, and a few maybe even beyond. The huge effort didn't go by without a cost for some of the players. Ahead of the game in Wolfsburg, the news from the medical staff is positive though.

Sebastian Rudy, who was brought off in the 78th minute after a battling display in defensive midfield, picked up a hardened muscle in his left calf. He is expected to return to team training on Thursday though.

Striker Anthony Modeste, who scored his fourth goal of the season against Gladbach, had to be brought off in the 71st minute. The Frenchman picked up a knock on his left calf and suffered some bruising. He will need at least two days before he returns to training for the Wolfsburg game.

Roberto Firmino, who is recovering from a partial collateral ligament injury in his left ankle, is back in rehabilitation training. The Brazilian has made great progress and should return to team training on Thursday. His inclusion on Saturday for the game against Wolfsburg is questionable though.

Midfielder Andreas Ludwig will need more time. He has heavy bruising to his metatarsus but has still begun rehabilitation training.
