Strobl signs contract extension

Strobl came through the youth ranks at TSV 1860 Munich, playing at full-back and centre back. He moved to Hoffenheim in the 2011 close-season and has spent this season in Frank Kramer's U23 side. Here he has been utilised in defensive midfield and has matured into a key player, also taking over the captain's armband. He briefly trained with the senior squad at the beginning of 2012, going on to make his debuts in the Bundesliga against SV Werder Bremen and in the German Cup against SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

Head Coach Markus Babbel made the following statement: “Tobias possesses great potential and has developed extremely well this season. By extending his contract, we want to show that we believe in his ability.” Strobl himself was equally delighted with his new deal. “I'm pleased that the club has shown such faith in me. I will do everything I can to justify their decision and to improve myself further.”
