TSG draw with Düsseldorf

TSG Hoffenheim did not get the home win they had been hoping for on Matchday 20 as they drew 1-1 (1-0) with promoted outfit Fortuna Düsseldorf. Andrej Kramaric's 16th-minute opener from the spot was cancelled out by Rouwen Hennings in the 47th minute.

Personnel & tactics:

Julian Nagelsmann made three changes to the starting XI that beat SC Freiburg 4-2 in the derby last time out. Goalkeeper Oliver Baumann was protected by a back three in which Stefan Posch replaced the stricken Benjamin Hübner and lined up alongside Kevin Vogt and Florian Grillitsch, who repeatedly dropped back and slotted in between the two centre-backs. Joshua Brenet replaced Pavel Kaderabek on the right flank, while Nico Schulz retained his left-back berth.

Nadiem Amiri made his comeback in the starting XI in midfield, where he played alongside Kerem Demirbay and Dennis Geiger, while Joelinton and Andrej Kramaric formed the strike partnership.

Nagelsmann opted to make his first personnel change on the hour-mark, with Reiss Nelson replacing Amiri. That was followed by an attack-minded substitution on the 71-minute mark as Brenet made way for Szalai and Nelson moved over to the right. Having picked up an injury, Joelinton was forced off only three minutes later and Ishak Belfodil replaced the Brazilian.

Moment of the match:

The opening goal in the 16th minute: Croatia forward Andrej Kramaric slotted home from the spot to score his ninth goal of the season and fire Hoffenheim into the lead.

Number of the game: 42

The opening goal was Andrej Kramaric's 42nd Bundesliga goal, putting him in third place in the list of TSG's all-time record goalscorers. Only Vedad Ibisevic (43) and Sejad Salihovic (46) have found the net more often than the 27-year-old.
