TSG fight back to salvage point in Lyon

Ten-man TSG Hoffenheim came from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw at Olympique Lyon thanks to second-half strikes from Andrej Kramaric and Pavel Kaderabek.

Personnel and tactics

Julian Nagelsmann made four changes to the starting XI that claimed a 4-1 victory over Leverkusen in the Bundesliga at the weekend. Oliver Baumann was protected by a three-man defensive rearguard of Kevin Vogt, Kasim Adams and Ermin Bicakcic, who replaced Kevin Akpoguma.

Kerem Demirbay returned at the heart of midfield, where he played alongside Florian Grillitsch. Nico Schulz and Pavel Kaderabek occupied their usual positions on the flanks.

Andrej Kramaric and Ishak Belfodil started in attack in place of Vincenzo Grifo and Reiss Nelson, with Joelinton completing the attacking triumvirate.

Grillitsch was forced off with an injury on the 57-minute mark and was replaced by Reiss Nelson. Once the deficit had been reduced to 2-1, Adam Szalai came on for Belfodil after 67 minutes and Kerem Demirbay made way for Havard Nordtveit on 79 minutes.

Moment of the match

The equaliser: Pavel Kaderabek restored parity following a free-kick from the right in the second minute of stoppage time. The leveller means TSG are still in with a chance of reaching the knockout stages.
