Another friendly victory for "Hoffe zwo"

The U23s have rounded off their training camp with a 5-2 (2-2) friendly victory over Bayern-Regionalliga outfit Viktoria Aschaffenburg, having previously recorded a 6-0 win against Arminia Ludwigshafen in the first of their two pre-season tests. Coach Marco Wildersinn's charges found themselves 2-0 down inside 18 minutes in Gimbsheim, but showed the resilience to bounce back and claim a 5-2 triumph thanks to a Steffen Foshag hat-trick and goals from Johannes Bender and Domenico Alberico

The next friendly will take place on Wednesday, when Oberliga side FSV Bissingen will be the opponents. Wildersinn's side will begin their Regionalliga Südwest campaign with a trip to TSV Steinbach in three weeks' time.

World Cup elimination for Switzerland and Zuber

TSG first-team player Steven Zuber has missed out on the World Cup quarter-finals. The Hoffenheim man was part of the Swiss team that was beaten 1-0 by Sweden at the Round of 16 stage on Tuesday. Zuber made three appearances at the tournament in Russia and scored the all-important equaliser in Switzerland's 1-1 draw with Brazil in the opening group game.

Baris Atik moves to the second tier

Baris Atik is to leave TSG Hoffenheim and join Dynamo Dresden in the 2. Bundesliga with immediate effect. The 23-year-old joined the TSG Academy in July 2012 and became a German champion at U19 level in 2014. Atik made his Bundesliga debut in the 4-0 victory over 1. FC Köln on 3 December 2016. The offensive midfielder spent the first half of last season on loan at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, before being loaned out to SV Darmstadt 98 for the remainder of the campaign.

Felix Passlack leaves TSG Hoffenheim

TSG Hoffenheim have prematurely ended Felix Passlack's loan spell at the club. The 20-year-old defender joined TSG on loan from Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of last term and was supposed to remain until the end of the coming season.

"Following an intensive evaluation of the last season, we and the other parties jointly came to the decision to prematurely end the loan deal. Felix is a very talented player with an irreproachable character, but we cannot guarantee him the sufficient degree of playing time that is so important for every young player," said Alexander Rosen, TSG's Director of Football.

Kramaric reaches quarter-final

TSG player Andrej Kramaric has reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Russia. The Hoffenheim man was part of the Croatian national team that beat their Danish counterparts 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the scores had been locked at 1-1 after extra-time.
Kramaric was brought on from the bench in the 97th minute and later held his nerve in an error-laden penalty shootout, converting coolly from the spot to help his team take a huge step towards the quarter-finals. Croatia will now face hosts Russia in the last eight on Saturday evening (20:00 CET). Keep it up, Andrej!
