Baris Atik moves to Darmstadt 98 on loan

TSG have loaned out Baris Atik to 2. Bundesliga side Darmstadt 98 until the end of the season. In the first half of the season, the 23-year-old, whose contract at Hoffenheim is due to run until 2019, was on loan at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, who are also in the 2. Bundesliga. He played 14 games for them and scored one goal.

The Frankenthal-born player made his Bundesliga debut for TSG in the game against 1. FC Köln (4-0) on 3rd December 2016 and has made three appearances for Hoffenheim. Due to his immense talent, the former Turkish U19 international played in the year above in the TSG academy until the U21s. In 2014, he won the German league title with the U21s and now head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

He made 74 appearances for the U23s in the Regionalliga, scoring 18 goals. Before his move to Kaiserslautern, Atik had played for half a season at Sturm Graz in the Austrian first division. He made 16 appearances there (5 goals, 1 assists).
