Justin Hoogma joins TSG

TSG Hoffenheim have completed the signing of rising Dutch star Justin Hoogma. The centre back, who celebrated his 19th birthday last Sunday, comes to Kraichgau from Dutch Eredivisie club Heracles Almelo and has signed a contract with TSG until 30th June 2021.

“Justin is a highly talented defender, a left-footer who is extremely good at building up the play and has already made history at Dutch football’s top level,” said Alexander Rosen, director of football at Hoffenheim. The son of Nico-Jan Hoogma, who made 177 Bundesliga appearances for Hamburger SV between 1998 and 2004, Justin is the youngest player in Eredivisie history to have played every minute in a single season’s 34 games.

“Because of their playing style and their reputation of taking players to the next level, I was hooked right from our very first talks,” said the defender after putting pen to paper on his new deal with last season’s fourth-placed Bundesliga side. Justin Hoogma worked his way through FC Twente’s various youth teams before completing the move to Heracles Almelo. He has also made seven appearances for the Netherlands at youth level (U19 and U20).
