Sejad Salihovic trains with the U23s

A familiar face has returned to the TSG training ground. Former Hoffenheim player and fan favourite Sejad Salihovic will train with Marco Wildersinn’s U23 side for the time being. TSG’s record goal scorer (46 Bundesliga goals) had recently cancelled his contract with Chinese second division side Peking Renhe FC. He moved to China in the summer of 2015 after having spent nine years at Hoffenheim

Salihovic has frequently visited TSG’s training centre in Zuzenhausen in recent months and has also been present for home games at the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena. He has remained in contact with Hoffenheim even after his move. Alexander Rosen, director of football at TSG, confirmed the continued contact with Salihovic several days ago. “The door is always open here for Sali.”

Salihovic was delighted with his first training session on Thursday afternoon. “It’s fantastic to be back here and to see so many familiar faces. I’m very grateful to TSG for helping me keep fit while I decide what my next steps will be.”
