Kai Herdling extends contract until 2016
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Kai Herdling have reached an agreement for a contract extension until June 30th 2016. The midfielder's previous deal was set to expire at the end of this season. Bar two short spells, Herdling has been at TSG since 2002. Manager Markus Gisdol brought him into the first-team squad for the 2013/14 season.
Alexander Rosen, director of football: “Kai Herdling hasn't just developed to be an important part of the first team over the past six months. He has become an integral part of the club through his long affiliation with TSG and his professional attitude. The young players can look up to Kai. It's for that reason that we recently decided that he will have a role at the club following the end of his professional playing career.”
Kai Herdling: “Hoffenheim is my club. I'm really pleased with the latest developments and will do all I can, regardless of how that is, to do my part in helping the club to success.”
