Steven Zuber signing strengthens TSG

TSG have signed former Switzerland U21 international Steven Zuber. The winger has agreed a contract runs with the Kraichgau club until 30th June 2018.

Zuber, who will celebrate his 23rd birthday on Sunday, most recently played for CSKA Moscow. Not only did he win the league title with the Russian team in May, but he could also celebrate victory in the Super Cup for the second year in a row. Zuber made 27 league appearances for Moscow club, scoring one goal and providing five assists.

“With the qualities he brings, Steven is an asset for our squad and also provides us with another option in attack,” said Alexander Rosen, director of football at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, who is pleased with the “quick and dynamic newcomer”, who also made six appearances in the Champions League last season.

Before his move to the Russian Premier Liga, Zuber made 146 appearances for Grasshopper Club Zurich's first team, where he scored 33 goals and provided 23 assists, and was also a domestic cup champion with the team in 2013. The 1.82m tall player has made 45 appearances for the Switzerland's youth national teams and took part in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
