TSG sign prospective trio – Müller: “We'll give them time”

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have agreed contracts for three youth players during the winter break. Brazilian midfielder Guilherme Biteco (18, Gremio Porto Alegre), as well as Peruvian attacking talent Júnior Ponce (18, previously Alianza Lima), will remain in South America however.

TSG sporting director Andreas Müller: “Both have a huge amount of talent. We've monitored them and expect great things from them in the long term. Thanks to the contracts we have secured, we have the option to bring them to TSG should they develop nicely.”

Things are a little different in the case of American Zach Pfeffer (17), who will make an immediate move to the Hoffenheim U19 squad. The attacking midfielder comes to TSG on a loan basis from partner club Philadelphia Union in the MLS. Pfeffer should later move up to the U23 squad. Müller: “We have faith that all three players will be able to have an important role at our club. We will however give them the necessary time to develop.”
