Two development courses in Hoffenheim and one in Wiesloch and Neuenheim respectively all boasted good attendances this spring: the weekly development courses organised by the TSG Soccer School were again coveted between April and July, with a total of 210 kids – including 179 outfield players and 31 goalkeepers – signing up.
Each course included ten 90-minute training sessions. For the outfield players, the emphasis was on technical skills such as feints, dribbling and passing, while switch play and one-on-one situations were coached too. As for the goalkeepers, the courses focused on fundamental techniques, reaction games and other goalkeeper-specific games.
Certificates & "Hoffi" visit round off courses in style
Over the course of the ten sessions, the children could earn themselves a certificate that would be presented to them at the end of the course along with feedback from the coaches and small presents. Club mascot "Hoffi" even made an appearance at the end of the camps and generated much enthusiasm among the kids.
The courses themselves have been highly rated by the attendees. For example, Mertcan Izci is a regular fixture at the development courses. "I'll definitely be coming back again in the autumn. That'll be my sixth time taking part," he exclaimed.
New courses in September
The employees of the TSG Soccer School gave their take on the courses too. "Every week, a total of more than 200 children trained, played and tried out new things at the various different locations. We're now already looking forward to the next courses, which will kick off in September," said Lennart Strufe of the TSG Soccer School.
The autumn courses for outfield players and goalkeepers, which will get under way in mid-September, will involve ten training sessions and again take place in the locations of Hoffenheim, Wiesloch and Neuenheim. There will be two courses in Wiesloch this time.
