Vogt: "We're on a roll at the moment"

Here are the reactions from the players and coaches after the 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin.

Kevin Vogt: "We produced a real firework display in the opening 20 minutes and created a lot of chances. Hertha could've had no complaints if it'd been 2-0 or 3-0. We then made things unnecessarily tense after the restart, but all in all we deserved the 2-0 victory. We're on a roll at the moment and we're now reaping the rewards in the form of a decent points haul. But if we drop off just a few percentage points, then it's going to be difficult for us against any opponent. It's great that we've now reclaimed sixth place in the table, but we should be placing most of our focus onto things on the pitch rather than looking at the table. If we adhere to that approach, then I'm optimistic."

Nadiem Amiri: "There was huge relief after going 2-0 up, as Hertha had improved. In the second half, we sat deep at times. If we'd put our chances away or converted them like against Leverkusen, then the flow of play would've been entirely different. But the victory is absolutely deserved."

Reiss Nelson: "We were very focused from the start. We had so many opportunities in the first 40 minutes that we should've been further ahead. In the interval, we said to ourselves that we needed to continue in the same vein and then there would be more goals. It was a good performance from all of us. I'm delighted that my goal was given after consulting VAR."

Nico Schulz: "We should've been further ahead in the first 25 minutes. But today things were looking too comfortable for my liking, so I was a bit scared things would go wrong. The way that we've performed in the last three games gives us courage that we can win at Schalke."

Julian Nagelsmann: "I was very satisfied with the opening 25 minutes. The only thing that was missing was the goals. After the break, we were no longer winning all the second balls and that meant Hertha had more counter-attacking opportunities. The game was slow in the second half. Only after our second goal did it get a bit better. It wasn't a firework display from us, but a deserved victory. Our chances of finishing in sixth place are now in our own hands. If others drop points, we'll seize the chance."

Pal Dardai (Hertha Berlin coach): "Congratulations to Hoffenheim on a deserved victory. For us, the only positive is that Lukas Klünter and Maximilian Mittelstädt played at a high level in unfamiliar positions. We showed a bit of fear at the outset. After Hoffenheim took the lead, we played slightly better but did not pose any significant goal threat. We have to accept the result."
