The top five TSG goals of 2018

2018 was a year of many highlights for TSG Hoffenheim, with a few stunning goals scored along the way. has put together a list of the five most beautiful and important goals scored in the past year.

5. Ishak Belfodil to open the scoring in the 2-2 draw away to VfL Wolfsburg on 8 December.

It was a textbook counter-attack: the ball fell to Joelinton from a Wolfsburg corner, with the Brazilian playing an inch-perfect pass from deep inside his own half with the outside of his boot to find Andrej Kramaric in his stride. The Croatian dribbled up to the edge of the box before sending a delivery to the back post, where Ishak Belfodil timed his run to perfection to meet the ball with a clean volley which found the bottom left-hand corner of the net. A divine piece of combination play which took just 17 seconds.

4. Reiss Nelson to give Hoffenheim a 1-0 lead in the 4-1 win away to Leverkusen on 3 November.

Vincenzo Grifo played a short corner to Reiss Nelson. The Englishman then rifled an effort goalwards from the left-hand corner of the box. His aim was true: the ball flew into the top-right-hand corner of the Leverkusen goal. Goalkeeper Lukas Hradeck's best efforts were in vain. A magnificent goal, scored despite the fact the 19-year-old fell over as he took his shot.

3. Andrej Kramaric to put the icing on a 3-1 win against Hannover 96 on 27 April.

Some of the most beautiful goals are those scored with a touch of delicacy - as Andrej Kramaric proved in the 3-1 win against Hannover 96. The Croatian controlled a long pass from Nico Schulz, took a look up to see goalkeeper Philipp Tschauner off his line and then deftly looped the ball over the stranded keeper's head from 25 metres out to find the back of the net.

2. Florian Grillitsch to give TSG a 1-0 lead in the 2-2 draw away to Shakhtar Donetsk on 19 September.

Hoffenheim's first ever goal in the Champions League will live long in the memory. It wasn't just a landmark goal; it was also a beautiful one. After playing a perfect give-and-go with Leonardo Bittencourt, Florian Grilltisch found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Andrij Pyatov, keeping his cool to chip the ball over the Ukrainian and into the back of the net.

1. Pavel Kaderabek to wrap up a 3-1 win against Borussia Dortmund on 12 May.

The Champions League goal. We simply had to put the goal which secured qualification to Europe's elite competition at number one. Pavel Kaderabek wrote his name into club history with his goal to make it 3-1 against Borussia Dortmund and give TSG the two-goal cushion they needed to secure their place in the group stage of the Champions League. As the final whistle blew, the stadium erupted in unforgettable celebration.
