TSG Hoffenheim have completed a further two training sessions in picturesque surroundings. Julian Nagelsmann put his charges through two highly intense sessions on the pitch belonging to 1. FC Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Monday. The first session, which started at 10:00 CET, focused on counter-pressing, while the afternoon session at 16:00 CET pushed the players to their limits across a range of activities. With temperatures still at almost 25 degrees, they practised closing down, tackling and pressing in confined spaces. The training group was then divided into three teams that again gave it their all as they were put through exercises involving goals of various sizes on a narrowed pitch. Towards the end of the training session, the stand at the Stadion am Gröben began to fill up as one of the youth teams of 1. FC Garmisch-Partenkirchen took the opportunity to observe the TSG players train, cheering as each goal went in.
The players were permitted to return to the dressing room after 75 minutes, but a dozen Hoffenheimers stayed on and staged a shooting competition for which Oliver Baumann happily agreed to go in goal.
Bavarian evening for the TSG team
In the evening, the players will have some time to relax and so Landsberg native Julian Nagelsmann has pencilled in a Bavarian evening. It's an event that has prompted mixed feelings, as Ermin Bicakcic explained with a smile and a wink: "As a Swabian, I've no choice but to participate. But we'll all have a nice chat and spend some time together. You look forward to that, they are the nice moments of the training camp."
But the festivities won't last too long, as on Tuesday the first training session of the day at the Stadion am Gröben is scheduled to start at 9:30 CET. You'll find impressions and snapshots from the second day of the training camp in our picture gallery and on TSG's social media channels.
