Fan information for the match away to Schalke

Transport information

• Drivers approaching the stadium via the A2 should take exits 6 (Gelsenkirchen-Buer) and 7 (Herten), while those approaching via the A42 can reach the VELTINS-Arena directly by taking the exit 17 (Gelsenkirchen-Schalke). The route to the stadium will be signposted once you reach the junctions.
• Fans who are travelling by public transport can take the shuttle bus service that runs between Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof and the stadium. The buses will depart the train station from the southern exit.
• The shuttle buses also travel to the away car park. From there, follow the signposted footpath to the stadium.
• Please beware that there are separate entrances for standing and seated places. Holders of standing tickets should follow Hermann-Eppenhoff-Weg, which leads them the short distance to "Eingang Süd".
• Away fans with tickets for the seated area should follow Berni-Klodt-Weg to "Eingang Ost 2".
• The away parking area for cars and buses can be reached by taking Berni-Klodt-Weg. From there, buses can turn left into the "Gelsenwasser" parking area (parking fee: €20 each). Cars should take a right into the E2 parking area, which is free of charge.

General information

• The stadium gates shall open two hours prior to kick-off (13:30 CET).
• A ticket office for away fans will be open on the day.
• Fans do not require permission to bring flags with a pole that is up to two metres in length or fence banners.
• Bags and rucksacks that are bigger than DIN A4 size may not be brought into the VELTINS-Arena with you. However, there is a free-of-charge storage point in the away sector.
• A "Knappenkarte" is required for payment in the VELTINS-Arena. You can load up the "Knappenkarte" using cash or an EC card.
• Furthermore, it should be noted that there is no place for the expression of extreme right-wing ideology or related symbols at Schalke.
