Žulj transfers to VfL Bochum

Robert Žulj has left Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim. The 27-year-old midfielder has been transferred to second division side VfL Bochum with immediate effect. His contract in the Kraichgau was due to expire at the end of the current season.

"Robert is a talented player, but it didn’t turn out as expected for him with TSG, mainly due to the strong competitive situation. Nevertheless, he was always professional and positive," says Alexander Rosen, director of football, who is pleased for Žulj "that he has found a new challenge at VfL".

The Austrian came to Hoffenheim in the summer of 2017 from the second division side Greuther Fürth, but made just five Bundesliga appearances and played once in the Europa League. Last season, Žulj was loaned to Union Berlin in the second division, where he made a significant contribution to their promotion with 29 appearances (4 goals, 5 assists).
