Vogt to join Werder Bremen on loan

Central defender Kevin Vogt (28) is leaving TSG Hoffenheim to join fellow Bundesliga side SV Werder Bremen on loan. The deal, which is set to run until the end of the current season, has been agreed by both clubs and will come into effect upon completion of medical checks.

''The possibility of a transfer opened up in the past few days and, after some intensive discussions with Kevin, we decided we didn't want to stand in his way,'' said Alexander Rosen. ''In professional football, situations often come up in which the present state of affairs has to be looked at in an open, frank and honest way,'' added the TSG Director of Football. ''After a period of shared success between club and player, it was clear to us that the best thing to do was to come to an arrangement with Kevin.''

Kevin Vogt joined Hoffenheim in the summer of 2016, moving from 1. FC Cologne. The defender had previously played for both VfL Bochum and FC Augsburg. During his time at TSG, he has made a total of 101 appearances in the Bundesliga, six in the Champions League, five in the Europa League and seven in the DFB Cup.
