Pentke: "Discipline was the key today"
Christoph Baumgartner: "We wanted to be solid. We managed that for 90 minutes and then got the goals. My goal was a strange situation. I got the ball with my back to goal. The only possibility was to push my backflick into the ground so that it would bounce back up slightly. The fact it then went over Pavlenka and in was really awesome and cool for the team. It's not really up for debate that we're finding it less difficult away from home at present. Now we need to keep working to ensure we win our home games too."
Philipp Pentke: "To the neutral spectators, it didn't look like we'd win 3-0 for much of the match. Discipline over the 90 minutes – both at the back and going forward – was the key today. We did that well and in the end we deserved to win. The objective as a goalkeeper is obviously always to keep a clean sheet, but the big plaudits need to go to the whole team today. The way that we defended for the entire match was really outstanding. The team made it easy for me. That's exactly how we need to continue against Leverkusen next week."
Florian Grillitsch: "The first period wasn't so good from us. We tried to take it in at 0-0 at the break and changed a few things at the interval. We then played the better football and in the end we deserved to win as well. We're obviously delighted with the victory. I don't know why things are currently going better for us away from home than they are at home. We performed well in the second half and didn't budge an inch in defence."
Alfred Schreuder: "We put in a very good away performance. The lads defended with discipline and waited for the spaces. We weren't so good with the ball in the first half but that then improved in the second period."
Florian Kohfeldt (Werder Bremen coach): "We were the better team for 60 minutes but we made the wrong decisions in the last third. Today was a setback. We're sorry for the supporters. We knew that setbacks would happen. We need to analyse them calmly."
