Lukas Rupp moves to England

Lukas Rupp has left Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim to join bottom-placed Premier League side Norwich City. The 29-year-old midfielder moved to the Kraichgau in the summer of 2016 on a transfer from VfB Stuttgart. His contract with TSG was set to expire at the end of the current season.

''We would like to thank Lukas for all his endeavours in a TSG jersey and we wish him all the best for his time in Norwich,'' said TSG Director of Football Alexander Rosen. ''Lukas shared many memorable moments with us during his time here, but unfortunately his stint at the club also saw him sidelined for long periods of time due to a serious knee injury. Lukas never let it get his head down, he always fought back and remained ambitious and loyal, despite the fact he didn't play as frequently as he would have liked. After sitting down to discuss the situation, it was decided that the player's desire for a new challenge overseas ought to be respected,'' added Rosen.

Rupp represented TSG 43 times in the Bundesliga, scoring five goals in the process. In total, the Heidelberg native made 51 competitive appearances for the club.
