Schreuder: "We're well prepared"

TSG Hoffenheim boss Alfred Schreuder spoke at the press conference prior to the Bundesliga clash with FC Augsburg at the PreZero Arena on Friday (20:30 CET, Live Ticker at achtzehn99.de) about the opposition's form, the personnel situation and his aims for the three matches before the winter break.

Alfred Schreuder on…

…FC Augsburg's current form: "When a team wins a few matches, the players believe in themselves more. That was the case for us too. Augsburg have performed very well recently. They play slightly more directly than other teams and attack the second balls well. We're well prepared."

…his objectives for the remainder of the first half of the season: "We haven't set ourselves a points target for the remaining three matches. That wouldn't make any sense. We must always focus on the next match and our way of playing. Then the points will come by themselves."

…the personnel situation: "Kevin Vogt and Benjamin Hübner will return at the weekend, but Stefan Posch will miss out through suspension. Steven Zuber is back training with the team too, but he won't be an option before the winter break. As for Ishak Belfodil, my feeling is that he won't be able to play again this season."

…this week in training: "I'm expecting a team that tries to be very dominant with the ball. I think we played well last week. I've seen lots of good things in training this week. The lads are implementing things well."

...the support of the fans: "We're of course looking forward to having our loyal fans support us and give us another push at home. The team and crowd can combine to give us decisive momentum in our efforts to be successful."

The social media fan question of the week:

How much football is there in the Schreuder household between Christmas and New Year?

"There's always football in the Schreuder household. I will of course analyse some of our matches and keep an eye on the Premier League too."

Head-to-head record:

TSG Hoffenheim fans tend to enjoy watching their team face FC Augsburg in Sinsheim: the Kraichgau club are unbeaten in eight Bundesliga home games against FCA (four wins and four draws). They have a positive overall record too, with nine wins, four draws and three defeats.

The opposition's form:

Coach Martin Schmidt's charges have taken 10 points from their past four Bundesliga matches. Only RB Leipzig have amassed more points (12) during that time. Augsburg currently occupy 12th spot with 17 points from 14 games.
