Delegation from Africa visit the Kraichgau

TSG Hoffenheim's match against FC Schalke 04 (a 2-0 win for the hosts) was attended by around 25 guests from numerous African countries. The delegation was made up of various journalists, who spent two days getting to know the club, as well as representatives of the Amandla Safe Hubs based in the Cape of Good Hope and Johannesburg, who were there for the full four day-programme.

The delegation did much more than just attend the Bundesliga game; before the match, the guests met with TSG Managing Director Dr. Peter Görlich as well as Marcel Obry from Werder Bremen. "It was a positive exchange for everyone involved. We learned a lot from one another," said Sebastian Bacher, TSG's Head of International Business Development, who accompanied the group throughout their stay.

Visit to the TSG academy and the climate arena

Sunday to Wednesday were filled with an action-packed programme of activities. The guests stopped by the TSG academy, visited the newly-opened climate arena, watched the first team train, led the warm-up of an academy training session, all while finding time to acquaint themselves with the local area. 

The German Football League (DFL) also had a part to play in the visit. Officials from the league sat down to give the guests insight into the work of Bundesliga International, receiving valuable feedback in exchange. The delegation headed back to South Africa having no doubt enjoyed the insights and experiences from their time in the Kraichgau, including being in the stands to witness a memorable TSG home win over Schalke. ''It was an intensive and successful visit. Everyone involved greatly enjoyed the time spent together and we can't wait to collaborate again in the future,'' said Sebastian Bacher.
