Schreuder: "Paderborn are courageous and take risks"

Following their flawless October, TSG Hoffenheim will be hoping for more wins in November. Their first clash of the month comes on Friday evening (20:30 CET/Live Ticker at achtzehn99.de) as they welcome SC Paderborn to the PreZero Arena. Head coach Alfred Schreuder spoke at the press conference prior to the game about the opposition, the personnel situation and the recent matches.

Alfred Schreuder on…

…the opposition: "Paderborn have put in a lot of good performances this season. They create a lot of chances and have a good philosophy. I think that they've deserved more points than they currently have. They're very courageous and take risks. It's not normally how a club bottom of the table plays."

…the personnel situation: "Diadie Samassékou is fit again. He's in contention for the squad. Steven Zuber and Ishak Belfodil are still out. Håvard Nordtveit is still suffering from bruised ribs too. I'm expecting Sebastian Rudy to be fit for the match. He still hasn't trained but he should be able to return to training today."

…the recent winning streak: "Not much has changed compared to the weeks beforehand. We're progressing well. We've always said that. But wins obviously help too. The first victory was very important. The lads got a feeling for what was possible. We hope that we'll win even more games."

…the English week: "We've played three times in six days. That's intense for the lads. You need to rotate from time to time. The lads who played in Duisburg performed very well. We'll make a decision tomorrow about who plays."

The social media fan question of the week:

How do you manage to keep all the players in the squad in a good mood?

"That's not always easy. But I don't do it alone. The whole club contributes. The assistant coaches and Alexander Rosen play a part in that too. I obviously have to chat with the lads and give them the feeling that they're part of it. As a coach, you need the players. You need to know what kind of mood they're in."

The opposition's form:

SC Paderborn recorded their first win of the season last weekend. However, coach Steffen Baumgart's charges remain rooted to the bottom of the table with only four points on the board from their nine matches this term.

Head-to-head record:

There have been four previous meetings between the two clubs: TSG Hoffenheim won three of them and drew the other  without conceding a single goal.
