Geiger: "We knew we'd need patience"

Below is how the players and officials reacted to the 2-0 victory away to MSV Duisburg.

Philipp Pentke: "I found out a few days ago that I'd be playing. I'm thankful for that and I think that I didn't perform too badly. What's important is that we've gone through to the next round. I knew what was awaiting me. There was a certain level of tension there, but I'm delighted that it all ended on a positive note. The first half was okay. Then, in the second half, we started to perform really well and saw it out comfortably."

Dennis Geiger: "We'd prepared ourselves for a match like that beforehand. We knew we'd need to be patient for the first goal. After the second goal, we moved the ball about well and were able to conserve a little energy for Friday. We can be satisfied. Our self-belief is growing with each week. We need to continue where we've left off."

Florian Grillitsch: "We saw in the First Round that it's not easy to play against a team like this. We're through to the next round – that's what counts. We could've scored one or two more goals, but we're satisfied. We'll enjoy it for a brief while but we're already in action again on Friday."

Alexander Rosen: "The outcome is extremely positive. We've reached the last 16. That was our clear aim. In the last four years, however, we haven't managed that. Our lads were very comfortable and dominant. The fact so many of the players in the starting XI didn't begin in Berlin speaks volumes for the depth of our squad."

Alfred Schreuder: "We're satisfied with the team's performance. It was a deserved victory too in the end. The first 20 to 30 minutes were very hard for us. You could see why Duisburg are competing at the top of the third division. They belong in the 2. Bundesliga. After the first 30 minutes, we started to move the ball about well. The team then got their reward in the second period and played very well."

Torsten Lieberknecht (MSV Duisburg coach): "We're disappointed because we gave them a helping hand with both goals. We hoofed a lot of balls clear under stress. The team put in a decent showing. We could have taken the lead after only five minutes. Unfortunately, it took Moritz Stoppelkamp a bit by surprise."
