First TSG Hoffenheim Fan eCup

To coincide with the official season opening event at the PreZero Arena on 3 August, Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim will be launching their first eFootball project. The competition, the TSG Fan eCup, will offer supporters the chance to put their gaming skills to the test on the PlayStation 4 game FIFA 19.

"We're consistently working on ways to offer our fans an entertaining events programme on matchdays. In keeping with our future strategy 'TSG is movement', we're launching the TSG Fan eCup as a means of offering our supporters a new way of connecting with TSG that extends beyond the weekends. We're looking forward to launching this project at the season opening event," said Dr. Peter Görlich, the TSG Hoffenheim managing director.

The eFootball tournament will be held in the event area in front of the PreZero Arena prior to the friendly fixture against Spanish giants FC Sevilla, and will be one of the many attractions on offer as part of this year's programme. Directly before the match kicks off at 15:30 CET, the two finalists will both have the opportunity to play the final of the TSG-Fan eCup in the newly constructed gaming studio at the PreZero Arena. The match itself, which will be displayed live on the video wall, will be accompanied by interviews. The two finalists will play with exactly the starting formations that will contest the real game on the pitch minutes later.

Further tournaments are planned for the first two home matchdays of the new season. Online qualification tournaments will be held prior to the matches against SV Werder Bremen (Saturday 24 August) and SC Freiburg (Sunday 15 September), with the finals then taking place at the stadium on the respective matchdays.
