Belfodil back in team training

Friday morning saw the TSG Hoffenheim first team take to the pitches at Windischgarten for a two hour training session.

Day two in Windischgarsten: on Friday, the TSG players were put through their paces at a variety of different stations, focusing primarily on different forms of passing. As head coach Alfred Schreuder made clear on Thursday, this week's training will mainly be centred around exercises focused on sequences of play in the final third. The session was brought to a close with a game played on a reduced-size pitch with eight players per team.

''It's great fun and I'm really happy to be here. We've got top conditions here,'' said TSG midfielder Vincenzo Grifo after Friday's training session.

Making his first appearance at pre-season training was Ishak Belfodil. The frontman, who suffered an injury on Matchday 34 of last season in Mainz, joined his teammates for a few exercises in the first 45 minutes of the session.

Kevin Vogt, who had been temporarily sidelined by a knock suffered during Thursday's friendly against Regensburg, rejoined his teammates on the training pitch. Andrej Kramaric, Philipp Ochs and Benjamin Hübner were the only players who were unable to join team training; all three underwent individual exercises instead.

The team's afternoon session will take place in the strength and conditioning room.
