Adamyan: "The Bundesliga's always been my dream"

Sargis Adamyan, 26, joined TSG Hoffenheim from second-tier outfit Jahn Regensburg this summer. In an interview with achtzehn99.de, the winger spoke about his first week in the Kraichgau, his coach Alfred Schreuder and his expectations for the coming season.

Sargis, your first week at TSG is over. What's it been like for you?

"Very good. My girlfriend and I have already found an apartment and we feel very happy. The team is very nice and have given us new signings a warm welcome. I've been absolutely delighted that everything has worked out and now I'm happy to be here."

How have the first training sessions under Alfred Schreuder been?

"It's very intense. We train a lot of match situations and it's a lot of fun. He really likes to speak with the players and is very communicative."

You still have a long pre-season ahead before the first competitive match. What are your aims for this period?

"First things first, I want to get myself really fit and get to know the whole team. I'm happy I've been given the opportunity, I try to give everything in training and I hope I'll live up to the expectations. I'm a very fast player who poses a real threat in front of goal. I hope I'll be able to contribute in that sense."

What are your expectations for the season?

"For now, I've decided not to set expectations for myself and I'll take it one session at a time. There's a lot of competition, but I'll try to state my case. It's always been my dream to play in the Bundesliga."
