Otto to join Heidenheim on loan

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim will loan forward David Otto to second-tier outfit 1. FC Heidenheim for the duration of next season. The 20-year-old, who has represented Germany at U20 level, has a contract with the Kraichgau club until 30 June 2021.

David Otto has made three Bundesliga appearances for TSG Hoffenheim in the season just ended. He was also part of the U19 side that enjoyed an incredible run in the UEFA Youth League, knocking out the Real Madrid youngsters en route to the semi-finals. He made his professional debut the season before in a Europa League meeting with Ludogorets, which ended 1-1.

"Together with David and those closest to him, we've made the decision that the best way for him to continue his development at present is to get more playing time at the highest-possible level. It was remarkable how hard Holger Sanwald and Frank Schmidt fought to get him, so that makes us very confident about this loan agreement," said TSG director of football Alexander Rosen.
