Amiri and Nelson fire TSG to victory

It has been another good day for fans of TSG Hoffenheim, who claimed their third consecutive victory by deservedly beating Hertha Berlin 2-0 (1-0) on Bundesliga Matchday 29. The win sees Julian Nagelsmann's charges climb to sixth place in the table.

Personnel and tactics:

In keeping with the motto "Never change a winning team", Julian Nagelsmann stuck with exactly the same side that beat FC Augsburg 4-0 last time out. The back four in front of goalkeeper Oliver Baumann consisted of Pavel Kaderabek, Kevin Vogt, Benjamin Hübner and Nico Schulz. Florian Grillitsch, who at times dropped back between the two centre-backs when "Hoffe" had the ball, played alongside Kerem Demirbay und Nadiem Amiri in midfield, while the front three consisted of TSG record goalscorer Andrej Kramaric, Adam Szalai and Ishak Belfodil, who hit a hat-trick in the Augsburg match.

Julian Nagelsmann made his first change on the 65-minute mark when another centre-back, Ermin Bicakcic, came on for Szalai and the hosts switched to a back three. Goalscorer Amiri made way for Reiss Nelson after 69 minutes, with the third and final substitution coming with 13 minutes to go when Leonardo Bittencourt was withdrawn in favour of Demirbay.

Moment of the match:

Reiss Nelson's goal on the counter, which put TSG 2-0 up. The match officials initially deemed the Englishman to have been offside but they consulted VAR and, following a lengthy interruption, the goal was given. It was the teenager's seventh goal of the season.

Number of the game: 501

The win over Hertha Berlin means TSG have crossed the 500-point barrier in the "all-time table". They now have 501 points in the Bundesliga.
