National player Schulz to stay until 2021

Nico Schulz made the move to the Kraichgau in the summer of 2017, signing from fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach. It wasn't just TSG fans and staff who were immediately impressed by the Berlin native's dynamism, stamina and speed down the left wing; Germany coach Joachim Löw also took notice. The 25-year-old Schulz was called-up as part of a new-look squad after the desperately disappointing World Cup campaign in Russia. The left-footer received his first cap on 9 September in a friendly match against Peru, played at his ''home'' stadium the Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim. He went on to score the winning goal in a 2-1 victory. Since then, Schulz has received four call-ups to the national side. The product of Hertha Berlin's youth set-up had previously represented his country a total of 50 times at various age levels. 

Until now, he has played a total of 55 matches for TSG. He has scored twice for the club: one goal in 41 Bundesliga appearances, one in 4 cup appearances. The tireless runner has also worn the blue of TSG a total of five times in European competition.
