Nagelsmann: "The main feeling is pride"

Here are the reactions from the players and both coaches after TSG Hoffenheim lost 2-1 at Manchester City.

Andrej Kramaric: "We were playing against the best team in the world. The fact that they came from behind is nothing out of the ordinary. We still had some good chances, though. But in the end, you have to congratulate the better team. Equally, we can congratulate ourselves because we've played some great football in all six of our matches. Obviously, though, we're disappointed because we wanted to progress or at least qualify for the Europa League knockout stages."

Reiss Nelson: "We're developing into a top team but today we didn't get the luck we needed. I feel very content at the moment. I want to grow as a player and I feel very comfortable in Hoffenheim."

Benjamin Hübner: "After the events of the last few months, it was an absolute dream for me and obviously a real highlight to be able to play today and make my first appearance in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League. We're playing very well but we also need to make sure we're getting the right results too. We have an attacking philosophy but the result has often not matched the performance, particularly in Europe. We've had a very good campaign in the Champions League and were by no means the worst team in the group."

Nico Schulz: "It was a big stage against one of the best teams in the world. We performed very well against a big opponent. We need to play with more composure both in the defensive and offensive departments. We've often been the better team but we need to be a bit cooler."

Julian Nagelsmann: "The main feeling is pride because we played such a good game and went toe-to-toe with them for so long. We deservedly took the lead and gave away few chances as well. Then we should've taken the lead again in the second half from the chance that fell to Reiss Nelson. After falling 2-1 behind, we could've conceded more goals. All in all, the second match against Manchester City unfolded in such a way that we could've won it ourselves. All told, we managed to produce some memorable moments in the Champions League in our debut season and made history. We improved significantly compared to the Europa League performances. But the volume of individual errors was simply too high to crown the performances with results."

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City coach): "We finished the group stages in the best way and are one of the best 16 teams in the competition. Big compliment to all the teams in the group, this stage was tough. Hoffenheim were better in the first half today. When you lose the ball as often as us at the start, you can't stop them once they get going. In the second half we were much better and I'm very satisfied.
