Julian Nagelsmann on…
…the personnel situation: "Leonardo Bittencourt is back in training. It's all looking pretty good. He no longer has any major complaints. A decision will be taken today about whether he makes the cut for the squad. Florian Grillitsch isn't in contention for tomorrow. He should be back in training on Thursday. Dennis Geiger is training with the team again but he'll need a few more weeks. We'll need to remain patient. Gregor Kobel will keep his place in goal for the DFB Cup."
…the Stuttgart match: "We gave away two opportunities in the first half: one was a counter-attack and the other was a corner. They didn't have any shots on goal. Stuttgart defended completely differently with 10 men compared to 11. We had to adapt our plan in that respect."
…the meeting with Leipzig a few weeks ago: "We could've opened the scoring against Leipzig. Following a counter from which we should've taken the lead, we were hit on the counter and fell behind. That was the key to why we lost. The goal that we pulled back came way too late."
…the draw: "In recent times, we've not played away to a Bundesliga club in the DFB Cup Second Round. It's naturally easier when you don't have to play against a top team from the top flight. I would've also liked to have a home game in the DFB Cup. But it is what it is."
…the upcoming clash with Leipzig in the DFB Cup: "We've already managed to beat Leipzig on two occasions. I have an idea of how we can get the better of them. I'd love to go through tomorrow. The special thing about the game is that it's a knockout. We need to keep Leipzig's counter-attacks at bay. We're well prepared and we want to finally reach the Round of 16."
The opposition's form:
RB Leipzig have made a good start to the season and sit in fifth place in the Bundesliga with 16 points on the board after nine rounds of matches. With only nine goals conceded, the men from Saxony have the best defence in the division.
The head-to-head record between the teams is entirely even, with two wins apiece in their previous five games. Leipzig won their Bundesliga meeting 2-1 several weeks ago. It will be the first time the pair have faced off in the DFB Cup.
