Vogt to captain the team in the new season

Kevin Vogt is the new TSG Hoffenheim captain. The 26-year-old had already worn the armband in 29 Bundesliga matches last season as a stand-in for Eugen Polanski, but he has now been made the official TSG captain ahead of the new campaign.

"It's a wonderful vote of confidence. We have exciting tasks ahead of us," said Vogt at the training camp in Windischgarsten. The defensive specialist moved to Hoffenheim from FC Cologne in the summer of 2016 and has since only missed seven competitive games for the club. Benjamin Hübner and Oliver Baumann will serve as his deputies. The trio form part of the Team Council alongside Ermin Bicakcic, Adam Szalai and new signing Leo Bittencourt. The captaincy and Team Council were jointly selected by coach Julian Nagelsmann and the team at the training camp in Upper Austria.
