Ochs to join Aalborg BK on loan

TSG Hoffenheim have agreed to loan Philipp Ochs to the Danish top-flight side Aalborg BK until 30 June 2019. The 21-year-old attacking player's contract at TSG Hoffenheim was simultaneously extended by a further year until summer 2020.

Ochs, a German A-Youth champion in 2014, had been coveted by several clubs before ultimately choosing the third-placed team in the Danish Superliga for sporting reasons. "Philipp will have an opportunity to play at a very high level there and gain important experiences," said Alexander Rosen. The TSG Director for Professional Football is hoping the loan will give Ochs the chance to get more minutes on the pitch under his belt and pointed out that "we've already had good experiences with this model on several occasions, most recently with Kevin Akpoguma, who is now a firm fixture in our senior squad".

Ochs, who has been at TSG since 2009, has been part of the professional squad at the club since the 2015/16 campaign. He has made 19 Bundesliga appearances since then, as well as two in the DFB Cup and five in the Europa League. He has scored one goal.

Philipp Ochs joined TSG at U13 level from his hometown club Viktoria Wertheim and quickly drew attention to himself for his striking prowess. He has played internationally for Germany at every youth level to date and marked his debut in the DFB U21 squad in October 2017 with two goals in a 6-1 victory over Azerbaijan.
