U19s to play Bayern in the very first round of the cup

A top-level match for the beginning of the season: the draw for the first round of the DFB Youth Cup held at the DFB's headquarters in Frankfurt/Main handed the U19s a home match against FC Bayern Munich's youth side.

It was the duel of last year's A-Youth Bundesliga season. TSG against FCB, Hoffe against Bayern. Ultimately, the team under TSG coach Marcel Rapp's charge just edged it to claim the Southern German Championship. The two figures making the draw, Dr. Hans-Dieter Drewitz, DFB Youth Vice-President, and Christian Pothe, Chairman of the DFB Youth Committee, have made for a quick reunion of the two adversaries. The battle for a place in the round of 16 will take place on 1 or 2 September in the Dietmar Hopp Stadium.

The game will be a particularly special one for the two new U19 signings Tobias Heiland and Alexander Nitzl, both of whom transferred from Bayern to TSG this summer. Of course, the rest of the "Hoffe" A-Youth will be highly motivated to play in this top-level match in the first round of the cup.
