6-0 - Hoffenheim celebrate biggest ever Bundesliga win

History was made today in the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena. TSG Hoffenheim beat FC Köln 6-0 on the season’s 28th matchday. Serge Gnabry (23’, 47’) and Mark Uth (56’, 66’) both scored braces, while Lukas Rupp (61’) and Steven Zuber (73’) also both got their names onto the scoresheet in Hoffenheim’s biggest ever Bundesliga win in the club’s history.

Squad and tactics:

Julian Nagelsmann made only one change to the team he fielded in the away game against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Mark Uth returned to the starting Xi, taking the place of Eugen Polanski. Hoffenheim set up in an attacking 3-4-3 formation. Benjamin Hübner, Kevin Vogt and Kevin Akpoguma formed the back three in front of goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. Nico Schulz manned the left wing-back position, while Pavel Kaderabeck played on the right. Florian Grillitsch and Lukas Rupp played in central midfield. Serge Gnabry, Mark Uth and Andrej Kramaric formed the front three.

The TSG head coach made his first substitution in the 60th minute of the game. Havard Nordtveit came on at centre-back to replace Benjamin Hübner. Steven Zuber joined the action five minutes later, when Andrej Kramaric left the pitch. The final Hoffenheim change came in the 67th minute, when Robert Zulj was brought on to take the place of Lukas Rupp.
