TSG return to training

The TSG Hoffenheim players returned to training on Tuesday 2nd January to prepare for the second half of the Bundesliga season. Head coach Julian Nagelsmann took charge of a training session involving 30 players in freezing conditions.

The players returned to training fresh from the winter break and completed a team session that lasted over 90 minutes. “The boys made a really good impression, both mentally and physically. They trained really well today,” reported head coach Julian Nagelsmann. “We initially had more planned for the session but seeing as the boys put in so much effort, we decided to stop the session after an hour and a half. The team are raring to go and nobody was slacking.”

200 TSG Hoffenheim fans braved the freezing temperatures and strong winds to see their favourite team train for the first time in two weeks. They even got to see a new face in the team, Stefan Aigner. Aigner, who currently players for Colorado Rapids in the MLS, will be training at Hoffenheim until mid-January. He is using their winter break to keep himself fit.

Philipp Ochs was the only first team player who did not train on Tuesday. “He will be there tomorrow,” said sporting director Alexander Rosen. “We are in constant contact with his advisors because we want to make sure that Philipp gets more game time in the second half of the season. For this reason, we are considering loaning him out. He will be allowed to speak with clubs who are interested in taking him on loan today.

TSG Hoffenheim will complete their preparations for the return of the Bundesliga in Zuzenhausen. They return to Bundesliga action on Saturday 13th January at 15:30 CET against Werder Bremen. First, they will face Excelsior Rotterdam in a friendly on Saturday 6th January 13:00 CET at the Dietmer-Hopp stadium in Hoffenheim.
