TSG finally beaten at home - Gladbach win 3-1

TSG's run of 22 matches without defeat at the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena has finally come to an end. Julian Nagelsmann's men were beaten 3-1 by Borussia Mönchengladbach. A Kerem Demirbay scorcher had given TSG the first-half lead, but the visitors turned things around in the the second half with goals from Matthias Ginter und Jannik Vestergaard.

Line-up and tactics

Julian Nagelsmann made seven changes to the team that faced Werder Bremen in the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday. Gregor Kobel, who was in goal in Bremen, was replaced by Oli Baumann. Captain Kevin Vogt lined up at centre back flanked by Stefan Posch and Kevin Akpoguma. Benni Hübner was unavailable due to suspension.

Lukas Rupp, Florian Grillitsch, Steven Zuber, Andrej Kramaric and Robin Hack were also all replaced in the starting XI. Nico Schulz and Pavel Kaderabek attacked on the wings, with Dennis Geiger slotting in at holding midfield Kerem Demirbay and Nadiem Amiri paired up in midfield, behind Mark Uth and Sandro Wagner leading the line.

Unfortunately, Uth was forced off early with an injury in the 35th minute – Andrej Kramaric came on to replace him.

It came in 85th minute, with TSG already trailing 3-1. What are the fans signing? “We Hoffenheimer never give up!”
