Schwegler moves to Hannover 96

Pirmin Schwegler will leave TSG Hoffenheim to join newly-promoted side Hannover 96 for the start of the upcoming season. The 30-year-old Swiss will move on a free transfer.

“I’ve had a great and eventful time with many amazing moments,” said Schwegler. TSG director of football Alexander Rosen wishes Pirmin “all the best as he embarks on his new challenge.” He also emphasised, “In Pirmin Schwegler, we are losing not only a strategically intelligent player on the pitch, but also an extraordinary person off it. He has made a lasting impression in his three years at the club.”

Schwegler was signed by TSG in the summer of 2014 and has made 59 appearances for the club in the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal. He has scored one goal in that time and has made a total of 206 Bundesliga appearances throughout his career, scoring another six in the process.
