Match reaction to #TSGSGE

Julian Nagelsmann: We played well in the first half and dominated, with a lot of possession and we looked good going forward. However our final ball was missing and we couldn’t get that goal. We also weren’t able to do that in the second half, whereas Frankfurt did that much better. We were too sluggish but the last set piece was the best. We’re glad that we finally got the goal late on.

Niko Kovac: In games as tight as that where you can’t get many opportunities, it is fine margins that decide the game. Today that happened to be a set-piece just before the final whistle. But I want to give credit to my team and point out how much they battled today. We defended well and although the first half didn’t go brilliantly, things were better after the break. We’ve ultimately lost in the end which is frustrating.

Benjamin Hübner: It was a tough game but then we got a set-piece late on and a chance to threaten them. The ball came nicely into the middle and in my range. I got up well and before I could even think about it, the whole team was bundling on top of me. It was also important that we kept a clean sheet today. Luckily that goal was enough to give us all three points.

Pavel Kaderabek: It is a fantastic feeling, we’re really pleased even though we got a bit luck. But that is football. We’re now in third place and we’ve got Dortmund next weekend, which is a crucial game for us. We’ve been very strong this year and I think we can go there and win.

Sebastian Rudy: We performed well in the first half and built on that in the second half. The opposition sat back more and I think we deserved to win. We never gave up and carried on trying to play our football. We kept composed until the last minute and luckily got the win.

Steven Zuber: We controlled the game in the first half but we were worse after the break. However we deserved the victory and every win is enjoyable. We want to keep on winning, it’s made us become really strong having that constant desire to be the better team.
