Unbeaten run continues

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim drew 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund in the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Friday night. BVB were reduced to 10-men in the 41st minute but fought hard to bag two equalisers over the course of the match. Mark Uth and Sandro Wagner scored for TSG.

Tactics and line up:

Kerem Demirbay, Sebastian Rudy and Mark Uth returned to the XI in place of Eugen Polanski, Andrej Kramaric (both benched) and Lukas Rupp (injured). Oliver Bauman started between the sticks. Kevin Vogt, Benjamin Hübner and Niklas Süle played in front of him, with Pavel Kaderabek and Jeremy Toljan occupying the wing-back slots. Demirbay, Rudy and Nadiem Amiri played in midfield, with Uth and Sandro Wagner up front.

During the second half Andrej Kramaric and Baris Altik replaced Uth and Demirbay respectively.

Moment of the match:

The decisive moment as far as the scoreline is concerned: Sandro Wagner hits the post moments into the second half. Dortmund take advantage of this gift moments later, with Aubameyang coolly slotting home to make it 2-2.

2016 has been a good year for TSG. It’s been great for Sandro Wagner too. He’s netted 18 Bundesliga goals this year, eight of which have come for Hoffenheim. This make him the highest scoring German in 2016. Mark Uth is second on the list, having scored 12 times this year.
